A CRM becomes useful when it makes the next action obvious. Contact storage alone does not create follow-up discipline, ownership or visibility.

Begin with the customer journey

Define the few stages that represent real changes in customer intent. Each stage needs an owner, entry rule, exit rule and expected next action.

Automate coordination, not judgement

Use automation for capture, assignment, reminders, routine messages and reporting. Keep pricing, sensitive conversations and exceptions with a named person.

Make leakage visible

Every manager should be able to find new leads without response, opportunities without a next task and deals stalled beyond the normal window.
